Raquette River Seasons
These images are a record of "in the moment" experiences where I live and work--along the Raquette River at the edge of the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York State. Alive, present, then gone are those brief moments of wonder and beauty that leave this artist in awe, humbled, challenged and grateful for where I live.
Winter Solstice, Darkness into Light
The Winter Solstice is that brief time when nature rests—when there is the deepest of stillness and silence. It is resting with purpose.
As nature pauses, I am invited into the quiet of the view and see purity of form isolated by contrasts. Nature becomes revealed without the distractions of cover and color.
Works on Paper: Contempletive Nature Studies
Each nature study is an offering. It is the opportunity to share my interpretation of nature’s suggestion that there is an infinite existence beyond this finite presence. These intimations stir a desire to understand more deeply nature’s language of metaphors and the longing and elusive feelings that lie at the edge of comprehending nature’s messages.
